Question Title
There is a problem with the audio driver (CD1.1s and the updated one from thewebsite) on K7S5A PCB 3.1B (CMI9738 chip) when using windows 98SE. BIOS we have tested are from 1/12/02 to the most updated from the web.System will freeze at "do you want to restart computer screen" at the end of CMedia driver installation when you do driver auto installation. At this time, mouse could still move around but could not do anything else. System will also fail to re-enter windows 98 after restart from windows 98 SE if you do a manually driver installation from device manger. The following message will appear in DOS mode. "While initializing device CONFIGMG: Windows protection error. You need to restart your computer."

Answer
New 9738 audio driver can fix it.
