Question
Why the IDE driver cannot be updated on Nvidia's platform ?

Answer
The IDE driver is included on Microsoft operating system as inbox driver for Nvidia platform. There is no need to install or update since Nvidia also didn’t provide it. And the IDE driver is not for RAID or AHCI.When you set up RAID mode in BIOS,you will need to load the Nvidia RAID driver during the installation of Windows operating system. When you set up ACHI mode in BIOS,if you are installing Windows Vista or higher,AHCI is directly supported natively on the operating system so you do not have to load AHCI driver during the installation of the operating system. However,Windows XP does not include native support and therefore you will need to install the Nvidia AHCI driver during the installation of Windows XP.
