ECS使用UEFI BIOS的Intel 6系列芯片主板可支持3TB硬盘．在2011年之前的大多数主板是使用传统的BIOS，这种传统的BIOS主引导记录（MBR）分区表，只能支持到2.2TB硬盘．UEFI BIOS使用 GUID分区表(GPT) ，可支持大于2.2TB硬盘．Windows 7 64位系统不需要安装一个非微软的设备驱动程序，就可支持3TB硬盘．
