ECS implements a series of quality assurance systems for environmental protection and has adopted a system of hazardous substance process management (HSPM). The system complies with the EU RoHS and WEEE directives. The company has also adopted a green quality risk management plan and setup a green quality information system (Eco-QIS) platform as well as a green supply chain management platform. Additionally, ECS implements a supplier counseling and certification program.

ECS Green Competitive Advantage Quality Risk Control PlanECS’ Green Competitive Advantage Quality Risk Control Plan includes green design support mechanisms, green product quality risk management mechanisms and green supplier counseling mechanisms. ECS Eco-QIS is a cooperative document collection platform between ECS, suppliers and testing facilities. A description of the organization is as follows:

ECS green competitive advantage quality risk control plan (Eco-QIS)

Quality information system (Eco-QIS) platform The construction of a green quality information platform not only provides a collection and management system for suppliers’ green product information, it also connects information and ERP information from the R&D design management system (PLM), the supplier management system (VM), production process management system (SFIS). Each system evaluates green product design and production requirement information and includes immediate control and feedback improvement functions. The systems also have shortcuts for efficient management of quality risks. The setup of this information platform also makes it more convenient for suppliers and customers to obtain information. If a supplier accesses the Green Vendor Portal and TEEMA, Third Party Lab (e.g. SGS) or other supplier websites, they can engage in information exchange and sharing. The platform reduces human error and effectively lowers human resource costs. Customers can log on to the Green Partner Portal to directly access relevant green product information such as green material standards and green design management information. This information helps customers understand more about product designs and the company provides better service.

Green Supply Chain Management PlatformThe green supply chain management information platform uses the electronic supply chain system as a base and expands upon it. It ensures that components needed for different parts comply with the green supply chain model. This information platform is based on quality risk management and transparency. It uses a green component information database and a green information management support system to reduce green product design risks and strengthens customer trust for ECS’ green products. Joint planning information exchange standards make it more convenient for upper and lower level factories to exchange green component documents. It also increases factory component supply ability and lowers the degree of environmental impact. This complies with international environmental preservation regulation and market requirements. It also raises the company’s green competitive advantage.

The supply of green products has become a growing trend for businesses throughout the world. In addition to using green components and packaging material that comply with RoHS requirements, the monitoring and control of the production process can’t be overlooked. It must manage the production efficiently and prevent pollution arising from production. With the ECS GPM green product management system, ISO-9000 quality system and IECQ-QC080000 hazardous substance management system, ECS has led many suppliers to adopt GPM green product management systems or comply with IECQ-QC08000 certification. It aims to reach the “one-time evaluation, one certification, global access” international objective to increase the green competitive edge of ECS suppliers
